The Ultimate Christmas Gift Guide from NI Brands

I've been asked so many times for a list of local brands to shop from this Christmas - so here it is! This year, more than ever, it is important to support local creators and businesses where we can. I also really encourage people to buy vouchers for their favourite experiences - whether that's for your personal trainer, nail infill or cut & blowdry.

This list is expansive and I am very thankful to the many brands that have provided exclusive That Belfast Girl discounts for you to use if you are doing your shopping. Click on the brand or discount to take you to directly to their site. These are all brands I have tried or want to try myself. Happy local shopping!

Cards

If you want some awesome local cards I have two 'go to' brands. Local artist Danni Simpson (the legend behind so many of the City Centre's iconic murals) has a range of super funny Christmas cards as well as fab prints & the Belfast colouring in book. Shop her range with 15% off with the code THATBELFASTGIRL

Another of my favourite brands is Leopard Print Cards owned my friend Emma. Her cards really make me laugh so whether it's for Christmas, a festive birthday or new baby, she has a card for all occasions with some typical Belfast humour.

Books

Books are always a huge go to for Christmas presents for me. Support Botanic Avenue's independent book seller, No Alibis in store or online

For little ones, local brand Books by Stellas sells children's books teaching children more about autism inspired by the founder's own experience with her little brother.  Shop the range with 20% off with the code thatbelfastgirl.

If you want to send someone some positive vibes, the Drew Watson Divine Timing Journal (that I'm pictured with) is a great way to affirm your day from morning to night. Shop the diary & her entire range with 10% off with the code ANGEL10.

Beauty

Beauty is huge category for Christmas presents. There's so much choice now for products that is can be overwhelming! I've picked my top products and brands that I hope Santa brings me this year.

BTY is an amazing independent beauty store in Victoria Square & online. With a great mix of curated brands from skincare to K Beauty, the brand is a beauty lovers heaven. They stock The Inkey List, Milani, Note and The Ordinary meaning their price point allows you to get more for your money.  My top pick are their brushes - they are the BEST brushes I have ever tried. They are affordable and wash like a ribbon. Shop everything on the BTY website with 10% off using the code BELFASTGIRL10.

I always love to stock up on little gift sets from Gordon's Chemist at Christmas too - their online site is also very good! They always have the Nivea/Dove/L'Oreal sets for super value for great stocking fillers.

My amazing hairdresser Rebecca also has a fab online store stocking everything from Davines to Beauty Works to GHD. Rebecca’s Hair Studio is great if you are in the market to treat your loved one to a new pair of straighteners or the GHD Glide (which is on my wishlist!). You can shop the range with 10% off with the code TBG10 until 30th Nov- this applies to click and collect only from her Carrickfergus salon.

My go to tan is always He Shi - to me it's a great price, amazing colour and wears off evenly! Their festive set is great value and gives you a tan, wonderglow and tan remover for only £25.

Beyond Skin is where I go for my skincare treatments - from peels to laser. A voucher for either of these would be a fabulous Christmas present. They also have an online store stocking lots of great performance skincare brands that would be a fab accompaniment to a gift voucher if you are feeling extra generous.

Another fabulous NI owned hair brand is We Are Paradoxx (use the code BELFASTGIRL20 for 20% off). Their Climax blowdry spray is a favourite of mine for the ultimate rich lady look! I also love their mini hair oil that you can keep on your keys!

If you love a luxurious scent, top of my Christmas wishlist is Stories Parfums. I've read so many reviews of their stunning scents that are gender neutral as well as their hand & body lotion. It's an interesting brand story with two scents inspired by the founder's own life experiences growing up here in NI. I love that there are so many unique beauty brands coming out of our wee country!

Experiences

I personally love to give an experience gift for something to do. Central Belfast Apartments are serviced apartments for a unique over night stay in the city. Given the present COVID situation, a self catering option seems great and any change of scenery is welcomed for those who don't want to head away this year. Use the code OURBELFAST for 20% off a stay at Central Belfast Apartments.

Another great experience is a photography shoot. If you want to feel sexy and confident, a shoot with Shelley from Wild Heart Boudoir might be the thing for you. I've always loved the idea of these shoots as a present for yourself or making it into a book for your other half. Shelley does everything from sexy boudoir shoots to beautiful maternity shoots.

My blog photographer & great friend Bethany also does stunning couples shoots if you want to celebrate your engagement or just making it through 2020!

Fashion

There's so many lovely NI fashion brands. From cute accessories from Pia Rossini to beautiful curated fashion pieces from Alana Interiors, there's so many great places to shop fashion locally. If you love designer brands, Rio Brazil in Victoria Square has a mix of well priced items from Paul Smith and Irish brand Stine Goya.

If you are planning a big wedding or event in 2021, Harris Kilts is a local brand making bespoke kilts and formal wear for events in harris tweed. They also do beautiful scarves and accessories. Shop the brand with 10% off with the code thatbelfastgirl10.

If you want to get someone a great fashion gift, a styling appointment is always great. I love Katherin who is the personal shopper at Victoria Square- you get great discounts for shopping with her in all your favourite stops. If you have a friend who want a wardrobe organisation, local girl Nuala from Adorn Bespoke Styling can help you curate your wardrobe at home with a wardrobe cleanse & edit experience.

Personalised treats

If you want to surprise your loved one with something bespoke, look no further than Treasure Gifts. They are the home of our amazing Belfast Girl merchandise but also sell personalised water bottles, makeup bags, door mats and weekend bags. The weekend bag is an ideal gift for men! Get yourself a Belfast Girl jumper or tee when you are there!

If you want a little bit of luxury a la Carrie in Sex and the City, Jack Murphy Jewellers in Newry can create a bespoke name necklace in gold, rose gold or silver. These are a great keep sake - whether it's in your own name, child's name or a loved ones name.

If you want something super cute for you little one this Christmas eve, get a little board from The Keepsake Corner. They are the sweetest thing to leave Santa his mince pie on!

Jewellery

If you love a mega glam statement earring, Prizm is my go to for those special earrings. I always wear them to my big events. Shop the range with the code belfastgirl20 for 20% off.

By Caitlyn Collection is another great local brand - I got my 1991 necklace from the brand and wear it all the time. The perfect stocking filler! Look at her reusable makeup removal pads when you are there too. Shop using the code belfastgirl for 10% off until 22nd November.

If you love little huggy hoops and more dainty pieces, Saintfield based brand Lulu Moore has lots of gorgeous bits. I have my eyes on the Sunburst earrings. Shop the brand with 10% off & free P&P with the code belfastgirl.

I also love the local brand Lines and Current - their pieces are beauitful to layer and really suit all age groups. I also constantly wear the Be Bold Hoops from Belle & Beau - they also have really cute earrings in a Christmas bauble!

If something unique and handmade is more your thing, Jill Graham Jewellery has fab pieces that I know my mum would love to see under the tree. Shop the brand with the code thatbelfastgirl10 for 10% off.

Homeware treats

Where to start with home treats!? There are so many stunning brands. I think a framed print is a beautiful gift. I am biased as she's my best friend by I love Le Petit Pois Gallery's abstract style - they are so striking and bold. I also love Aly Harte's drinks prints which are great for any new home owner.

I also love candles with my favourite local brand being Dollie. They are soy and smell incredible (even if you aren't burning them!). Use the code TBG10 on the Dollie site for 10% off. I also have bought some of the new naked lady Le Contour candles. I don't intend on burning them as they are too beautiful! Lots of reader recommendations came in for the brand Made by Marc and The Bearded Candle Makers

For homewares, I adore The Old Courthouse in Greyabbey. They have a little big of everything from furniture pieces to fab log baskets. Another great homeware gem is Linen & Latte in Glengormley - a great mix of pieces from art to vases to cushions. I'm also a big fan of Ian Thompson and Herbert Gould on the Lisburn Road.

For beautiful Irish inspired linen interiors, I love Deborah Toner. Her embroidery is inspired by Irish landmarks - the gorgeous Georgian door pillow in my picture is from her brand.

Food

Last but not least - food! I could go on forever on this post but I tried to stay to things I REALLY want to try or love. If you are a hot chocolate addict like me, Refuge hot chocolate is fairtrade and they make dairy & vegan options too. Another recent local chocolate discovery is Neary Nogs based in the Mourne Mountains. Their chocolate subscription sounds incredible!

If you love a hamper, my top picks are from Sawers and Arcadia. Both brands are fabulous, can cater to your budget and fill a hamper with lots of local goodies. If you want a graze board, my top pick is Gourmet Grazing - their Christmas graze looks stunning! Use the code TBG10 for 10% off until the end of November.

If nuts are your thing, Forest Feast is an amazing local brand - their new cookies & cream almonds are stunning!

Let me know if you buy anything from a local brand - I hope the recipient loves whatever you buy!
