Shop Early, Shop Safe

This festive season is a little different but Visit Belfast is encouraging us all to Shop Early & Shop Safe in the City Centre. Armed with my mask, they challenged me to pick my high-street favourites from Victoria Square this year.

My top tips for Christmas shopping this year

Come prepared if you are doing a serious day of shopping. Do not make the same mistake I did and bring a small handbag! My photographer Bethany had a backpack and ended up carrying my stuff! A backpack is a great idea so you can take layers of clothing on and off as well as storing you mask and sanitiser. I also recommend bringing a bottle of water with you to sip in between stores - it can get warm with a mask on, especially if you are wearing a jumper or a coat. I recommend going in as early as you can - most stores in Victoria Square open between 9.30am - 10am so make sure to check the times online before visiting. We visited at 9.30am on a Saturday morning so we were able to get round the shops quickly. Pay attention to the signs and sanitise on your way into the centre & each store.

My top gift picks from Victoria Square

There's so much choice at Victoria Square. For beauty, I love The Body Shop. The store in Victoria Square is massive and the staff are so friendly. Their Christmas range is gorgeous - I stocked up on the Warm Vanilla Shower Gel & scrub to get me into the Christmas spirit! They also do a great range for men that I really recommend. There is also a huge MAC store in Victoria Square - their Christmas gifting ranges are always a Christmas much have as well as their Mini products making an ideal stocking filler. BTY on ground level is already a favourite with me - their brushes are iconic as well as being a stockist of the brand new Inkey List haircare. The treatments would be great for women & men alike. In Fraser's, shop many exclusive brands including Killian, Tom Ford and Charlotte Tilbury. For luxury gifts, Rituals is hard to beat. Their candles burn so evenly and their room sprays are exquisite. Their new room diffuser would be a great present for mums or friends who love their home to smell stunning 24/7!

For accessories, Dune has some fabulous (and very extra!) slippers that are almost good enough to wear outside. Kurt Geiger has a stunning selection of bags in multi-colour tones. Guess also has incredible shoes and boots  - I feel in love with a pair that I might have to go back for. I also love Biba at Fraser's - their new season bags are very unique. When you are in Fraser's, they have a mini Paperchase in case you need some extra tissue papers or sticky tape to wrap your gifts! I also headed to Swarovski for some sparkle. From amazing phone cases to the most amazing rings, watches and bracelets, the locally owned store has everything for who want to dazzle this Christmas.

For fashion, I am always a H&M fan for their well priced pieces. The new New Look store is also fabulous with some great comfy PJ's and gifts in stock. For lingerie, Boux Avenue goes up to a G cup and has some stunning sets for Christmas - a nice self gift!

Whether you are shopping for yourself or your loved ones this season, make sure to shop early and shop safe. For more information on shopping in the city centre this season see www.visitbelfast.com
