Baby Mine

It's been a long time since we've had a baby in our family. Today we are celebrating the naming day of a little one in our family and my mum is godmother! I have been stuck in the house this week writing my dissertation so today was a great excuse to get glammed up!

I adore this skirt from Irish designer Patricia O'Toole. It has build in shape wear which I really love. I feel like it gives me a nice shape. It also sits high on the waist which I also like. I teamed my shirt with nude heels (that old as the hills) from New Look. My top was a recent buy in the House of Fraser sale. It's from Label Lab. A lot of their stuff reminds me of All Saints and I was told they are a design inspiration for them. This top was more than a third of the price in the sale and j can see me getting great wear out of it over the next few months. It also looks great with high waisted jeans and heels for a night out. The big draw for me was the sleeves. It's not often you find a top with such big sleeves. I think it helps to give it a more casual vibe.

I hope you all had a great weekend.

My favourite body moisturisers

I really hate moisturising. I have hated it since I was a child for the sheer sticky feeling it leaves. However, if I was to go back in my life, I would have stuck it out to combat stretch marks!

Now as an adult, I try to moisturise my body every night before bed. I have found three moisturisers that don't break the bank, sink in quickly and keep my skin in tip top form. Firstly, Vaseline Intensive Care Spray Moisturiser seems like a gimmick but I assume you it's not. It sinks in quickly, smells amazing (it comes in three scents but I love the clean Cocoa Radiant variety) and makes moisturising a simple job. This is my go-to if I am really tired or need to target a very specific area as I can just spray this on. A little bit more expensive but worth it is La Roche-Posay Lipikar Baume AP+. This thick formula is perfect for anyone with skin conditions or severe dryness. I would use this a lot on my upper arms that tend to get a little bit dry. It does not have a noticeable scent and the formula dries in very quickly. If a scented moisturiser is what you are looking for, Fleurs de Cerisier by L'Occitane is a must buy for you. This is my fun moisturiser as is has shimmer in it! It looks lovely on the arms and chest plus the scent really lingers all day. Lastly, a recent addition to my moisturiser line up is Garnier Oil Body. This is my favourite moisturiser to use before I tan or if I am heading out and need my legs to shine like J-Lo. This is super hydrating and a real joy to use.

Let me know your favourite moisturisers if you are like me and hate that sticky feeling! Comment below or tweet me @GemmaLEBond.

Curated by Emma Willis at Warehouse

I've confessed my love of high street store Warehouse many times before on the blog but their latest offering has me loving them EVEN more. Curated by Emma Willis is a 12 look collection handpicked and put together by TV presenter and all round stylish lady Emma Willis. Her vision was to create looks that would transition from day to night for busy women like herself. I absolutely love all of the looks from the collection but my favourite has to be the skinny jeans with the grey fur jacket- it's such a 'me' outfit! Also, I'm not really a skirt person but I have fallen for the denim skirt (£26) that seems to match with just about everything.

I love that all the looks are very simple and chic- it is really reflective of Warehouse and their changing brand. As with many of their items, I can imagine someone who was 20 and someone who was 40 wearing all of these looks.

The collection is only launching in selected stores from tomorrow (27th August)- one of these being Victoria Square! Make sure to get down and check out the stunning Curated by Emma Willis collection as it's sure to be a sell out.

#WCCFW SEASON 20

I can't believe West Coast Cooler Belfast Fashionweek is now in its 20th season. This year's launch was busier than ever and details of the 4 day fashion extravaganza had the room super excited.

Fashionweek director, Cathy Martin, handpicked 20 gorgeous models to showcase looks to show off this seasons latest trends including brights (my personal favourite), suede and tweed. I absolutely adore winter clothes and layering. I fancy a super bright coat for this winter- red is really speaking to me! I also loved my amazing hairdresser Caroline (she works at Jason Shankey Lisburn Road) in her cool hat! I love a hat for autumn!

For the super cool launch with fro-yo from Yogland, food from Fratelli and sweet treats from Miel et Moi, I wore a very casual outfit. In all honesty, I was actually there with work and had come round from the office. So you get to see what I wear to work! I teamed a super simple jumpsuit from George at Asda with heels from Primark. I love these block heels and I always get complimented when I wear them. I picked them up in the Primark Selfridges concession which always tends to stock a few different things that might not be as readily available at home. My jacket was the bargain of the year from All Saints at Kildare Village. I got it reduced from €328 to €30! If that's not motivation to visit the village, I don't know what is!

The shows are taking place this year from the 15th-18th of October across Belfast. For more information and tickets, visit www.belfastfashionweek.com.

#ABSOLUTBELSONIC

Last night I had the pleasure of attending Belsonic to see Paloma Faith with Absolut Vodka. I'm a big fan of Paloma (I personally think I do a rousing rendition of Changing) and I am also a big fan of Absolut Citron Vodka. We started the evening off in The National. It's my favourite bar in Belfast at the moment- I particularly love it on a Friday night. We had a gorgeous array of snacks and drinks before heading around to the party apartment at Custom House Square.

The apartment was dressed in Absolut Vodka merchandise- I was very tempted to steal one of the cushions! We had a lovely bartender who made an array of stunning Absolut cocktails. My favourite was Absolut Vanilla and Ginger Ale. It was so refreshing and summery.

Paloma Faith was amazing as usual- after seeing her at the Cool FM Jingle Ball at Christmas, I was excited to see her again. She is such a great performer and her voice is outstanding. I love 'Picking Up The Pieces'- it always makes me want to cry!

I had an amazing night and it was a real luxury to experience the concert from the comfort of a party apartment.

Thank you so much to Dillon Bass, Sarah, Joanne & Sinead for a wonderful time.

M&S are on point

I've loved M&S my whole life and I've been very lucky with the blog- M&S have been a brand that has been very kind to me. When I went to the A/W 2015 press show a few months ago, I was blown away. M&S are a changing brand and the clothes for this season are more on trend and more affordable than their designer looks.

I instantly fell in love with the Zip Through Sequin Embellished Jacket, £89 when I spotted it at the press show. I'm a strong believer in a day time sequin for all occasions- not just for Christmas! This would look amazing with a white tee, boyfriend jeans and trainers or thrown over a jumpsuit for a night out. It's definitely my number one buy for this season- I can't wait to get my hands on it.

Secondly, I've become such a trainer fan lately an the Lace Up Trainers, £25 that look a bit like a classic Adidas shoe, caught my eye. I love M&S shoes as I am a size 6.5 and they are one of only a few stores that carry this size. I also find M&S shoes incredibly comfortable!

Lastly, as the weather is starting to get a bit colder, wraps and cardigans are essential. I love the Aztec Print Hooded Wrap, £39.50 as it has a hood which is always much needed here in Northern Ireland! These are great to throw on to run to work or doing errands when it's a bit chilly. They also are a great layering piece for when it gets super cold in the winter.

All in all, I'm pretty sure my whole A/W wardrobe is going to be coming from M&S!

The ultimate glam girl palette: The UD Naked Smoky

I wasn't really into eyeshadow until I bought the first Naked palette from Urban Decay. I still use it  3 years on and I think that they are great value for money. They have launched a few palettes in between but the Naked Smoky has been the one that really caught my eye. A mix of shimmers and mattes, the palette is essential for anyone that loves a good smoky eye for a night out. I'm obsessed with the shades Dirtysweet and Armor- both metallic shimmers that really make the eyes pop. The shadows are super pigmented and easy to apply. I also think that this packaging is the best of all the Naked palettes- it's study and has a huge mirror inside. In addition to this, it has a dual ended brush. One end is tapered to lay down, crease cut or blend and the other end is thinner and more dense making it perfect to use the shadows as liners.

Featuring 9 new shades and 3 palette exclusives, this possibilities are endless. The palette also comes with a step by step instruction card with 3 looks to inspire you. I would highly recommend this palette for anyone that loves all out glam or travels a lot. The shades are very wearable and it's the dark colours in the middle that can be used to amp a look up from day to night.

The Naked Smoky is available on counters and online at urbandecay.co.uk, priced £38.

The new season Warehouse items I love

I will be honest in saying I find high-street fashion hard. I'm tall and curvy so I often feel like the high-street doesn't cater well to my body type. However, I adore Warehouse. Warehouse is one of the very few stores I've been wearing since I was 13 and it's grown with me. The brand has had a huge change in direction over the past few years and matches up much more with other brands I love such as All Saints, Whistles and COS. Warehouse does the most amazing basics- great tees and fabulous jeans (if you have a big bum like me you need to try them out!) but they also have amazing trend pieces that don't break the bank. Warehouse stands out from other hughstreet retailers for two reasons for me- firstly, their stuff is good quality. Most things on average seem about £40- they wash well and they are made well. Secondly, their sizing is very fair. I have found over the years that high-street stores have crazy sizing (*looks at H&M*) but for me, Warehouse along with M&S have some of the best sizing options on the market. They also go up to a size 18, unlike many other high-street retailers.

I've picked a few of my favourite pieces from the new A/W collection that I need in my wardrobe. The Powerhold Skinny jeans sound like an essential! They also have some great things launching over the next fews months (that I've had a sneaky peak of) and I'll be sure to update you when they hit stores. In the meantime, take a nosey over at the Warehouse website or visit my favourite store in Victoria Square.

New to me from NARS

I have worn the same foundation for years. Laura Mercier Silk Creme has been my go to for about four years. It always gave me great coverage without being too flat. However, Laura Mercier recently changed the Silk Creme formula and on finishing my last tube, I decided to try something new.

I have loved Nars for years. In fact, one of the first expensive products I never bought was Nars Turkish Delight lipgloss as Kim Kardashian used to really love it! However, I had limited experience of Nars base products. When I visited Brown Thomas a few months ago, I visited the Nars counter and tried out a sample of the relatively new NARS All Day Luminous Weightless Foundation in Sante Fe. The foundation delivers medium to full coverage. However, as the name suggests, the formula feels very light. On first application, I loved this foundation. However it took me a few months to find out how to apply it best. DO NOT apply it with a brush. It will look awful. One to two pumps of the formula either applied with my hand or with a Beauty Blender (my preferred method) delivers the perfect complexion. The foundation wears beautifully during the day with formula looking even better half way through the day. I find that with powdering around the T Zone in the morning, the foundation can last all day on my combination skin. This foundation is perfect for dry/sensitive/combo skin but I wouldn't recommend it if you are over oily as the formula is already quite an oily consistency.

In addition to purchasing the foundation, I also purchased the NARS Radiant Creamy Concealer in Honey. This is one of the best concealers in my opinion for illumination. I love to apply it in a V shape under my eye to brighten and lift the area. Again, like the foundation, it has good coverage. However, on me, I find if I bring this too high under the eye it can crease. Therefore I use this more as a highlight/brightener rather than a concealer.

My Week #4: Burgers, Bras and Discovering Wonderland

Another week has gone by in a flash- see below some of my favourites that I've enjoyed.

I've been a big advocate of City Picnic since it opened and it's seen a huge rise in popularity over the past while. The simple menu of burgers, bagels and salads is well executed. I frequent City Picnic for lunch more than I'd like to admit- their gluten free burgers are filling and delicious. It's also great value for money. City Picnic is located on Castle Street (up the side of Primark) and I definitely would recommend it for lunch or a catch up with friends.

I have been trying out lots of new underwear brands this year. Freya is still my favourite but I have been buying lots from the brand Chantelle recently. My local TK Maxx always seems to have them in stock but I know lots of department stores also carry the line. I've been wearing the Irresistible Push Up T-Shirt Bra to death. It gives that perfect Kim Kardashian perky look and it's great for any low cut items you might want to wear.

I visited Victoria Square tomorrow to celebrate the month long installation of Wonderland. The experience brings Alice in Wonderland to life with life size props, a maze and plenty of photo ops throughout. The experience runs until 31st August so make sure to check it out.

I hope you've had a great weekend and have a positive week ahead.
